About Detox Home

Detox Home is an independent, founder-run site built by David, with one job: find the household products whose materials and chemistry actually hold up when you read past the marketing.

The method is simple and unforgiving. For every product we consider, we read the full listing — ingredient lists, spec tables, materials disclosures — and apply one rule: name the part, then the material. If any part that touches food, water, skin, or air isn't named on the product's own page, the product is rejected, no matter how well-reviewed it is. "BPA-free," "non-toxic," and "premium materials" are not materials. The full standard is on our how we vet page.

How the site makes money

Through Amazon affiliate commissions: if you buy something through our links, Amazon pays us a small percentage at no cost to you. Two things keep that honest. Brands cannot pay to be listed — there is no paid placement anywhere on the site. And commissions never influence what stays listed: a product that fails our rules comes off the site no matter how well it converts. Details in our affiliate disclosure.
