How we vet products

Every product on this site was checked before it earned a spot — its materials, coatings, and chemistry. We are not a marketplace; brands cannot buy their way onto these pages, and there are no sponsored placements.

What we check

For anything that touches food: coatings (PTFE, PFOA and other PFAS), lead and cadmium in glazes and enamel, and plastic contact surfaces. For textiles: fiber content, formaldehyde-based finishes, and dye safety. For personal care: parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and synthetic fragrance. For furniture and mattresses: polyurethane foam, chemical flame retardants, and formaldehyde glues.

Certifications we favor

GOTS (organic textiles), GOLS (organic latex), OEKO-TEX Standard 100, GREENGUARD Gold, MADE SAFE, EWG Verified, NSF (water contact), and USDA Organic. Certified products rank higher in our lists.
