We assess the frame, slats and panels together, favoring solid construction and lower-emission finishes.  Any plastic parts are disclosed.  Bunks need additional attention to guardrails, mattress thickness and age restrictions; a preferred material cannot compensate for a bed that does not fit the child or mattress.
